Mr. Balamurugan Ratha Krishnan is a visionary and with a keen eye looks forward to improving lives in the subregion by brainstorming and executing intelligent ideas to elevate economic growth, raise people’s productivity and to also promote and establish entrepreneurial relationships globally. Mr Balamurugan plays a crucial roles in implementing and accomplishing activities or projects that will contribute to the growth of a country’s economy and directly impact a development in its social progress. Mr. Balamurugan has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in May 2004.
He then pursued a diploma majoring in Public Management in 2007 earning a distinction. Mr. Balamurugan was previously attached with The Economic Planning Unit, a Malaysian Government Agency, for a period of 7 years. Mr Balamurugan commenced his career here in 2006 as an Assistant Director for the Regional Development Section under the Economic Planning Unit for the Prime Minister’s Department and progressed to a Principle Assistant Director in 2012.
Since 2013, Mr. Balamurugan has served at the Center of Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), an International Organization (IO) based in Malaysia. He is the Deputy Director for the Economic Cooperation and Integration division and is responsible for most strategic IMT-GT projects and programs including those that relate to private investment in energy saving under IMT-GT Green Cities Programs.
