Mohamad Kamal Bin Nawawi
Biography
Kamal is the Chief Executive Officer of Axiata Foundation, where he leads the work of the Foundation in the 3 pillars of Education, Community Investments and Environment in support of the Axiata Group’s commitment to meet its ESG goals and manage Axiata Group’s RM115m pledge over 10 years to the Foundation.
Kamal Nawawi was also until January 2024, Head of Axiata FastForward, Axiata’s corporate learning and development platform that accelerates the acquisition of essential new skills for doing business in the digital age for the employees of Axiata. In 2021, Kamal launched 5 academies within 8 months to cater to the development needs of the different business functions within the group and in 2022 expanded that to 3 more academies.
He has over 30 years of experience working in the local corporations and education institutions including as:
