Low Carbon Schools
Home > Our Work > Low Carbon Schools
The Low Carbon School project endeavours to carry out greenhouse gases (GHG) accounting of schools. Specific training modules that are easy to learn and disseminate shall be developed for students and teachers for their capacity and knowledge-building exercise. The project shall also prepare a guidebook on how low carbon interventions can be implemented by schools and provide checklists and assessment frameworks to guide their efforts in this regard.
Schools are encouraged to undertake planning and implementation of low carbon and climate resilient measures and strategies through an annual award and recognition programme. The project envisages linking this GHG emissions accounting activity, capacity building of teachers and students, and interventions for low carbon development of schools to promote the creation of low carbon schools across the region.
